Great news today with the worst kept secret in Football being realised, Daniel Arzani has completed his move from Manchester City to Celtic on a 2 year loan.
The young attacker will not walk straight into the Celtic team with players like Mikey Johnston, Lewis Morgan and Ryan Christie battling it out to get into the Champions first XI.
Arzani will join incumbent OzCelt Tom Rogic in the midfield and from an Australian perspective, this is a fantastic opportunity for the 2 of them to build a partnership which can pay dividends for the Socceroos for years to come.
Tom Rogic himself had a part to play with the deal as Daniel called him to ask his advice.
‘I gave Tom a call and had a chat with him about the club and everything was positive,’ Arzani said.
‘Basically he said to me that if it wasn’t so good, he wouldn’t have signed an extension to stay at Celtic Park. Apparently, playing in front of the Celtic fans is absolutely amazing and I’m really excited about that.
‘All of Celtic’s home games look absolutely amazing. The scenes at the game are unbelievable, and I love it when the crowd gets behind me. I’m an attacking player. I love to take players on and hopefully I can bring some of that to the team.’
It has been often said that there is a dearth of matriculation from the A-League to major European clubs, with Arzani being signed for the English Champions and loaned to the Scottish this is a good news story for all.
Hopefully, his skills are on show in the SPFL soon, there will be few who will handle his trickery and speed easily.
